Why Solar Heating?

  • All your hot water needs can be met between March – September and most but not all in the winter months by installing solar panels
  • The installation of solar panels will add value to your property. Energy assessment is part of the Estate Agents requirements for a HIP report
  • Fuel savings of up to 70% of your hot water requirements
  • Installing solar panels will reduce your carbon footprint and helping to conserve the environment.

What areas do you cover?

  • Bedfordshire

Welcome to Solar Ray Ltd

We are pleased to offer, to the best of our knowledge, the most competitive price for supplying and installing thermal solar panels and energy saving solar panel systems.

We are able to do this because we obtain our solar panels direct from the manufacturers and wholesale trade suppliers and we do not employ any sales staff.

SolarRay Ltd are heating engineers with over 25 years experience of fitting heating and energy efficient systems including solar panels.

There are two types of solar panel systems:

Photovolatic panels

Photovoltaic Panels

These produce electricity. Photovoltaic panels are a proven technology and can produce some of your household needs. The surplus can be sold onto the electricity suppliers. However, photovoltaic panels are more expensive to install than solar thermal panels.

Solar Thermal Panels

Solar Thermal Panels

These heat water. Solar thermal panels are generally considered to be the most cost effective of all the renewable energy sources.

If you are thinking of installing solar panels consider the following:

Experience We are not driven by commission on sales or employ sales staff. All of our advice is first hand knowledge gained by experience.
Location Where is the company based, you do not want a company hours away if you incur any problems.
Quality Our solar panels are made in a modern European factory, predominately for the German market, which is 10 years ahead of the UK. They are a quality product manufactured to be maintenance free and last far in excess of the warranty period.
Direct Systems Some companies will try to sell you a direct system using your old hot water cylinder. The capacity of your hot water cylinder is crucial in the operation of a solar system. It should be large enough to store the majority of hot water the panels produce (minimum of 180 litres, preferably 210 litres). If your cylinder is below this capacity it will not be efficient and will lead to stagnation, a period when the panels cannot transfer any heat produced leading to undue stress on the system.
Cost The costs of some direct systems being sold are no cheaper than our system, which includes a new hot water cylinder.

We can also advise on other forms of renewable energy, such as heat pumps, photovoltaic panels, biomass and rainwater collections systems.

We primarily install flat plate collectors but can also supply and install top quality evacuated tube collectors.

We also install and maintain all conventional forms of plumbing and heating including boilers, radiators, under-floor heating, power flushing, fault diagnosis and servicing.
